Criminal Law

Criminal law is the branch of law which relates to crime and the punishment of those who violate laws. Most criminal law is established by statute, however in the India there are many important criminal cases which have created legal principles. The fundamentals of a crime are known as the actus reuse and the mens area. These two Latin terms mean “guilty act” and “guilty mind” and both must be established in order to prove culpability in most crimes.

Code of Civil Procedure Civil Law

As the name suggests, Civil Law comprises of set of rules and regulations which helps in resolving disputes which are non-criminal in nature. The law in India is primarily governed by the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (CPC) which is a procedural law pertaining to administration of civil proceedings in India.

Labour Law

The law relating to labour and employment in India is primarily known under the broad category of “Industrial Law”. Industrialization is considered to be one of the key engines to support the economic growth of any country. The commence of industry and its growth is not a venture of the employer alone; yet it involves the hard work and tough grind of each and every stakeholder of the industry including the labourers, supervisors, managers and entrepreneurs. With the initiation of the concept of welfare state in the early realm of independence of our country, various legislative efforts have made their first move in the direction of welfare, equitable rights, social justice, social equity and equitable participation of the labour as a stakeholder at parity. 

Corporate Law Law

Corporate Law includes the rules, practices and regulations that govern the formation as well as the operation of corporate firms. Thus, in simple words, Corporate Laws deal with forming, owning, operating and managing of a corporation. In the law specialization typically candidates learn about how corporations, investors, employees, shareholders, directors, creditors and other stakeholders like the community, consumers and the environment interact with one another.

Consumer Law

Consumer Protection Act is one of the main laws that provide protection to consumers in India. The Act was introduced in the year 1986 and then amended in the year 2002 through the Consumer Protection Amendment Act, 2002. In this article, we look at the protection afforded to the consumers through the Act.

Insurance Law

Insurance refers to a legal contract between the insurer (insurance company) and the insured (individual person) wherein the insured is compensated for the financial losses arising out of the unforeseeable events, for which premiums were paid by the insured person.
